We all know that the Windows operating system produces the ‘Blue Screen of Death’, whenever it is unhappy with the driver configurations, or perhaps software that contains buggy scripts. And apparently, sources in the New York Times have indicated that the BP oil spill which causes several billions of dollars of losses, might be attributed to the infamous Blue Screen of Death that is linked to the Microsoft Windows.
According to the rig’s chief electronics technician, Mike Williams, he mentioned that the Deepwater Horizon system is plagued by a series of technical difficulties. For instance, he added that the computer system will often hang with a noticeable blue screen, and with no data coming through.
Personally, I believe that perhaps BP should upgrade their systems, and maybe the oil spill catastrophe could have been avoided?
